I came across this fun and fast challenge at Gayle's Sparkle Jars blog just a few minutes ago, and -- since my desk is piled high with books -- dove right in. There's something charming and seductive about randomness, so I couldn't pass this one up.
The Nearest Book Challenge:
* Grab the nearest book.
* Open the book to page 56.
* Find the fifth sentence.
* Post the text of the next two to five sentences in your blog along with these instructions.
Reminder: Don't dig for your favorite book, the cool book, or the intellectual one: grab the CLOSEST BOOK and GO!
