Short post today. I have the flu. I had it on Thanksgiving and I had it the day before. I'm ready for it to go away, and will spare you the details.
Ray made the Thanksgiving turkey, as he has for the past several years. He got up at 4 a.m. to put it in the oven, and got up again at 7 a.m. to make the dressing and the gravy. At 10 a.m., he put it all into a cooler -- with hot bricks to keep everything warm and salmonella-free -- and he and son number one drove to Los Angeles to spend Thanksgiving with my mother-in-law and two of Ray's sisters. He was back 8 hours later, to fuss over me and bring me 7-Up. I wish I had a photo of Ray in his disposable pharmacy scrubs to put in this post, so he'd look all Doctor-like :o)
Today Ray's on-call and has already made a 3 hour trip to the pharmacy. He's on-call until Monday morning. He's still fussing over me, and is also baking fresh rosemary focaccia, which will be delightful for a turkey sandwich when I'm feeling better.
I've worked my way from 7-Up to iced tea, and am still feeling ready for another nap. Blog posts really don't get much duller than this, but I'm not gonna miss a single day of NaBloPoMo, with only two more days to go ...
